Über den Autor

For the past 15 years, Zarretta Hammond has been designing and delivering professional development workshops and seminars for public school teachers, particularly around issues of equity, literacy, and culturally responsive teaching. She has been part of various education reform organizations such as Bay Area School Reform Collaboration and the National Equity Project (formally know n as the Bay Area Coalition for Equitable Schools).

Hammond has had an active independent consultancy for the past 10 years, most recently conducting a three-month long study group for district-level literacy specialists in the Oakland Unified School DIsctrict around the topic of cultural competence and culturally responsive pedagogy. She has conducted workshops and seminars for a variety of school districts and education management organizations such as Teach for America, charter school networks such as KIPP, and teacher education programs at institutions such as Mills College and the University of California, Berkeleys Principal Leadership Institute.
