The gate to madness is open, and it leads straight through your sleeping mind.

While H. P. Lovecraft is famous for the vast, cosmic horrors of the Cthulhu Mythos, some of his most profound and terrifying visions originated where reality dissolves: in the Dream Cycle. This collection gathers the short stories that reveal the bizarre, beautiful, and profoundly disturbing landscapes accessed only after waking thought is abandoned.

This volume showcases the author's uniquely unsettling genius, where the boundary between dreams and reality is razor-thin, and the creatures found in sleep are shockingly real. Explore tales of existential dread, forbidden travel, and the ultimate loss of sanity in pursuit of otherworldly knowledge.

Contained within are journeys into the boundless Dreamlands and glimpses of horrors that transcend human imagination, including:

The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath: The epic, sprawling adventure that forms the centerpiece of the Dream Cycle, chronicling the quest of Randolph Carter through impossible cities and realms guarded by monstrous entities.

Cosmic Beings and Ancient Cities: The sinister poetry of Nyarlathotep, the tragic history of The Doom That Came to Sarnath, and the subterranean menace of The Nameless City.

Existential Terror: The poignant horror of The Outsider, the otherworldly voyages of The White Ship, and the intoxicating escape of Ex Oblivione.

Lovecraft is now rightly regarded as one of the most significant writers of supernatural horror in the twentieth century. This essential collection is a perfect entry point into his most imaginative world. It is republished in a new edition complete with a dedication by George Henry Weiss.

Dare to close your eyes. The Dream Cycle is waiting.
