Beschreibung
After a life in fast lane across many countries and countless airports Jan Orrnert finally found what he did not know he was searching for. An island. A home. A paradise.
In this personal and poetic account he opens the door to his Skiathos not as a tourist destination but as a lived reality.
Here we encounter the flow of the seasons. The quiet mornings in Sklithri, The rising sun over Cape Ouzo. The people who have made the island a sanctuary and a story.
With warmth humour and quiet reflection Jan writes about life in Villa Viking. About the island ways that bind us to one another and the winds and rains that leave their marks on land and spirit and the deep gratitude that comes from finally finding home.
SKIATHOS my island paradise is a tribute to a life in transformation from global movement to local belonging
A story about finding ones paradise not by travelling farther but by pausing and seeing things more deeply

Über den Autor
Jan Orrnert was born and raised in a small town in northern Sweden. From an early age he discovered a love for writing and dreamed of becoming a writer. His parents, however, talked him out of this. That is not a real job, they told him. Jan later reflected on this turning point in his memoir Ticket to the World.
Instead, he embarked on a business career that spanned thirty-three years with AstraZeneca. His work took him across the globe, living in ten different countries and building an international reputation. Along the way, his gift for clear and compelling writing never went unnoticed. One CEO once remarked, You write the most easily read marketing plans in the whole AstraZeneca Group.
Even after buying a house on Skiathos, Jan continued to work for many years in countries around the world. It was only upon retiring on the island that he returned to his first passion, writing.
His third book, Skiathos my island paradise is a literary guide to the island he now calls home. Blending memoir, cultural insight, and lyrical storytelling, it celebrates Skiathos as both a destination and a source of inspiration
