Part philosophical ponderings on humanity's relationship to the universe, part scientific extrapolation on what technological advancement might bring to that understanding, this long essay, first published in Century Illustrated Magazine in June 1900, is yet another example of the genius of Serbian inventor NIKOLA TESLA (1857-1943), the revolutionary scientist who forever changed the scientific fields of electricity and magnetism.

From the possibilities presented by robotics to the "civilizing potency of aluminum," from a "self-acting engine" to one of the first proposals to use solar power to run industrial civilization, and much more, this is a wide-ranging but illuminating look into the thoughts of an unsung hero of scientific philosophy.

Über den Autor
Nikola Tesla (1856-1943) was a Serbian-American inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, and futurist whose work helped define the electrical age. Born in the Austrian Empire and educated in engineering and physics, Tesla emigrated to the United States and became one of the central figures in the development of alternating-current electrical systems. His inventions and theoretical work influenced electric power generation, transmission, motors, lighting, radio, wireless communication, and later thinking about energy and [...]'s name remains closely associated with alternating current, the induction motor, high-voltage experimentation, the Tesla coil, wireless power, and the modern mythology of the visionary inventor. His public reputation has grown steadily as readers, engineers, historians of science, and technology enthusiasts have returned to his writings and patents. My Inventions offers one of the clearest first-person accounts of his imagination, working methods, ambitions, and extraordinary place in the history of invention.
