Der Konfessionswechsel vom Deutschordensstaat zum Herzogtum Preußen 1525 erforderte landesweit lutherische Pfarrer, die noch rar waren und zudem von verarmten Gemeinden schlecht besoldet wurden. Viele Kirchspiele mussten fusioniert werden, ohne dass der Weg zur Kirche so weit wurde, dass die Gläubigen wegblieben. Herzog Albrecht entsandte zur Neuorganisation der Kirchspiele Visitatoren wie Bischof Georg von Polenz und Paul Speratus. Berichte bedeutender Reformatoren ab 1526 sind hier erstmals veröffentlicht. Das erklärt sich dadurch, dass die Dokumente verteilt über verschiedene Bestände des Historischen Staatsarchivs Königsberg, heute Berlin, mühsam aufgefunden werden mussten. Lokalhistoriker finden in den Texten und besonders im Ortsregister Namen, Daten und Fakten.<p>The religious realignment as a consequence of the Lutheran Reformation, one converting in 1525 the previous state administration of the Teutonic Order into the Duchy of Prussia, still required now Lutheran pastors throughout the land, already a fairly scarce representation and who were traditionally poorly paid by impoverished congregations. Many parishes had to be accordingly merged, and this without inadvertently making the lengthened trip to church so far that the believers would just stay home. In light of all this, Duke Albrecht sent out 'visitors' to reorganize the parishes, such as Bishop Georg von Polenz and Paul Speratus. Some of these reports from renowned reformers after 1526 are published here for the first time, which fact is astonishing. This may be explained, however, by the circumstance that the documents were scattered across various holdings of the Historical State Archives of Koenigsberg, currently held in trust in Berlin, and had to be painstakingly re-assembled. Interested local historians should find in the texts, and especially in the locality registers, enlightening names, dates, and facts.</p>
