Wilkins (1972) believed that "while without grammar very little can be conveyed, without vocabulary nothing can be conveyed" (pp.111-112). The present study aims to investigate the effect of using lyrical music on foreign language vocabulary acquisition, and its effect on long-term retention in Urmia, Iran .
