Über den Autor

Jesse Byock ist Professor für Altnordisch, Skandinavistische Mediävistik und Archäologie an der University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) und Professor an der Universität Island (Háskóli Íslands) in Reykjavík. Er wurde an der Harvard University promoviert. Auf Island leitet er u.a. das Mosfell Archaeological Project (MAP), das die wikingerzeitliche Bebauung des Tals von Mosfell archäologisch erschließt. Jesse Byocks Publikationen befassen sich mit den Themen Wikingerzeit, Archäologie, Isländisches Mittelalter und Sagaliteratur. Von ihm sind u.a. erschienen: Viking Age Iceland (Penguin), Grettir's Saga (Oxford University Press), Viking Language 1 und 2 (Jules William Press), Jesse Byock and Randall Gordon, Old Norse - Old Icelandic: Concise Introduction to the Language of the Sagas (Jules William Press).
